Graduate Health & Safety Advisor | Construction Contractor | Ireland / Belgium

Oradeo Recruitment are currently seeking a motivated and career-driven Graduate Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading construction and engineering contractor working on major data centre and infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on site experience within a fast-paced, technically complex environment, while developing a long-term career in health & safety within the construction sector.

The successful candidate will support the wider HSE team in ensuring full compliance with project-specific requirements, company procedures, and relevant legislation, while actively contributing to the delivery of a strong safety culture across site operations.

Graduate Health & Safety Advisor Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the project Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System in line with company procedures
• Support the preparation, review, and updating of site-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits under the supervision of senior HSE personnel
• Assist in incident reporting, investigation processes, and preparation of detailed documentation
• Support the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness campaigns
• Monitor contractor compliance with HSE procedures and legal requirements
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation control systems
• Participate in safety meetings and coordination sessions with site teams and subcontractors
• Promote continuous improvement and proactive safety behaviours across all site activities
• Assist in identifying hazards, non-conformances, and supporting corrective actions

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Strong interest in health & safety within the construction or engineering industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage site teams effectively
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced site environment
• Good organisational and reporting skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary project team
• Willingness to work on active construction sites and potentially travel across Europe depending on project requirements

Necessary Skills & Requirements:

• Previous site experience (placement, internship, or part-time construction exposure)
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards
• Familiarity with RAMS, permits, and construction safety systems
• IOSH Working Safely or working towards certification
