SOS Children’s Villages Belgium is looking for a dedicated and sensitive volunteer to support our Child Friendly Space (CFS) project during the summer at the Fedasil reception center Klein Kasteeltje in Brussels.
This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment for young refugee children from diverse backgrounds.
About the Role:
You will work together with the main play facilitator to support children from 3 to 7 years in small group settings through free play. Each group includes a maximum of 5 children, with sessions lasting 1 hour. There are three groups per day.
Your role is to help create and maintain a calm, emotionally safe space where children can explore and express themselves freely, at their own pace, through play.
Who we’re looking for:
* Individuals with experience working with young children (ages 3–7)
* Students or professionals in psychology, social work, early childhood education, pedagogical sciences, or related fields
* Emotionally sensitive, patient, and comfortable following the child’s lead in play
* Able to support children from diverse refugee backgrounds with empathy and care
* English is required; French and any other language are a plus
