About the Role
Step into a mission-critical freelance role as a Data Functional Analyst & BI Developer for our client's Data Office in Brussels. You'll be at the heart of a cross-functional Scrum team, transforming complex business needs into robust data models and BI solutions that power healthcare and reimbursement operations. What You'll Be Doing
Engage with business stakeholders through workshops and interviews to capture functional and non-functional requirements
Translate business needs into logical and physical data models
Collaborate with Data Architects to define and refine functional and technical specifications
Design, build, and maintain data warehouses and data marts using the Microsoft BI stack and Azure technologies
Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and analytical datasets
Create impactful reporting and dashboards in Power BI and SSRS
Test, troubleshoot, document, and maintain delivered solutions
Deliver demos, prototypes, and user training on data models and BI solutions
Work closely with the Project Leader throughout the Agile lifecycle
Technical Skills & Experience
Master's degree in IT or equivalent experience
At least 7 years in Data Functional Analysis and BI Development
At least 7 years of Data Engineering experience with Azure Databricks and Python
Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (SSIS, SSAS)
Proven experience in data warehouse design (Kimball dimensional modeling)
Advanced SQL and T-SQL development skills
Strong background in logical and physical data modeling
Hands-on with OLAP, ETL frameworks, and database systems
Power BI and SSRS reporting development
Nice to Have
Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality initiatives
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or other Azure analytics tools
Proficiency with modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect
Agile/Scrum project experience

Other Requirements & Working Conditions
Freelance position with a 10-month project duration
Minimum 2 days per week on-site in Brussels
Telework permitted only within Belgium
Flexible schedule (40 hours/week with core hours)
