People Soft Database Administrator (DBA)
Job Summary: EY is seeking a highly skilled Senior People Soft DBA with 8+ years of experience to lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of People Soft environments (HCM, FSCM, or Campus Solutions). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle/SQL Server database management, People Tools architecture, and proven experience managing complex 24/7 production environments.
Core Responsibilities
* Environment Management: Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of People Soft application servers, web servers (Web Logic), and process schedulers.
* Upgrades & Patching: Manage full-cycle People Soft Image (PUM) updates and People Tools upgrades; execute Oracle database patching and version upgrades.
* Performance Tuning: Perform advanced performance tuning at both Oracle database level (SQL tuning, indexing) and People Soft application level (App Server/Batch tuning).
* Data Integrity & Security: Implement robust backup and recovery processes using Oracle RMAN; manage People Soft security (roles, permission lists, SSO).
* Automation: Develop automation scripts (Shell, Python, Power Shell) for environment refreshes, backups, and monitoring.
* Disaster Recovery: Design and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans using Oracle Data Guard or similar tools.
* Mentorship: Provide leadership and guidance to junior DBAs; collaborate with People Soft Developers and Functional Analysts.
Technical Skills Required
* People Tools: Extensive experience with People Tools 8.5x – 8.6x (Application Designer, Data Mover, Change Assistant)
* Database: Mastery of Oracle 19c/21c, SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN. Experience with Exadata or OCI is a plus.
* Middleware: Deep knowledge of Oracle Web Logic, Tuxedo, Integration Broker (IB)
* Operating Systems: Expert-level proficiency in Linux/Unix (OEL, Red Hat) and shell scripting
* Tools: Hands‑on experience with People Tools or Stat for version control and migrations
