Data Science Officer– Private Debt | AI, Data & Transformation FocusKartesia is an independent and privately-owned European specialist financing small and middle-market companies. We provide long-term liquidity and credit solutions following a fundamental and disciplined approach, based on our knowledge of the European small and mid-cap corporate market and our extensive professional network.We are looking for a forward‐thinking Data Scientist to play a key role in the digital transformation of our Private Debt platform.You will leverage advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and optimized data flows to enhance investment decisions, strengthen reporting capabilities, and improve operational efficiency across the full credit lifecycle and broader firm processes.This is not a traditional data scientist position, but a transformation role focused on embedding AI into investment processes, building best‐in‐class reporting, optimizing data architecture and flows, implementing agentic solutions, and driving measurable efficiency and scalability gains.The role sits at the intersection of data science, credit expertise, and IT transformation, with high visibility across investment, risk, and management teams.Key ResponsibilitiesAI & Advanced AnalyticsDesign and deploy AI/ML models and LLM-based systems to enhanceCredit risk assessmentInvestment performance forecastingScenario analysis and stress testingBuild and orchestrate agentic AI to support end-to-end investment processesLeverage NLP and generative AI to extract insights fromFinancial statementsCredit memosLegal documentation (loan agreements, covenants)Explore innovative use cases of AI pilots to augment investment decision‐making and insight generationReporting & Data visualizationEnhance end‐to‐end reporting frameworks for:Develop interactive dashboards (Power BI)Ensure reporting is scalable, automated, and audit‐readyDeploy reasoning agents for AI-driven enrichmentData Flow Optimization & ArchitectureLead the optimization of data pipelines and data flows across systemsImprove data quality, governance, and consistency across platformsReduce manual processes through automation and smart data structuringIT Transformation & Process ImprovementAct as a key contributor to the data & IT transformation roadmapPartner with investment, risk, and legal teams to design workflows around AI capabilitiesDrive the adoption of agentic AI solutions and LLM platformsRequired Experience2 to 4 years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative roles, ideally within private debt, asset management, banking, or consultingProven exposure to data transformation / IT projects as to reporting automation and redesignRequired Technical skillsStrong understanding of LLM (Claude, GPT...), alongside solid foundations in machine learning techniques, data architecture and data modelingProven experience designing and deploying agentic AI systems including multi-step reasoning workflows, tool integration, orchestration and human-in-the-loop approachesProficiency in Python and SQL for analysis, modellingExperience with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI), data pipelines and ETL/ETL tools (Data Factory), Cloud environments (Azure, Snowflake)
