Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and business-oriented Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team within a dynamic, operationally focused environment based in West Flanders.
In this role, you will act as a key financial partner to senior management and cross-functional teams, combining strong accounting fundamentals with commercial insight to support decision-making through accurate reporting, financial control, and forward-looking analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles
* Develop and maintain management reporting and KPI dashboards
* Analyze financial and operational performance, including costs, margins, and variances
* Provide actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
* Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with local GAAP and group standards
* Perform balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, ensuring integrity of financial data
* Partner with operations to monitor cost efficiency and business performance
* Contribute to process optimisation and continuous improvement within finance
* Support ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and finance digitalisation initiatives
Requirements:
* Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or controlling roles
* Strong technical accounting foundation (essential) combined with business partnering ability
* Experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes
* Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus
* Experience working with ERP systems
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insight
* Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented with a hands-on mindset
* Ability to thrive in an on-site, fast-paced operational environment
