With inhouse cleanrooms & multiple working labs, our facilities are a major contributor to the space infrastructure of the International Space Station.
RDW build sophisticated science instruments and life support systems to enable long-term crewed missions.
Redwire Space Europe is also developing highly technical systems such as IBDM (International Berthing and Docking Mechanism) & STAARK a Robotic Arm system for delivering In-Space manufacturing and space debris solutions.

What We’re Looking For
Reporting directly to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving new business & growth within our Space Structures & Mechanisms product line. (IBDM- International Berthing & Docking System)
The Business Developer will be responsible for the growth, revenue generation & lead the commercial direction of our structure & mechanism product line.
You will provide crucial input in RDWs product offerings, technology roadmaps & marketing strategies.
On behalf of RDW you will lead the market research, emerging trends, customer demand & satisfaction & provide the organization with thorough competitor market analysis.
The Business Developer will actively expand new and existing business within the Structures & Mechanisms focusing the Commercial & Institutional space market.
Furthermore, the role involves the crucial delivery of profitable bid packages to both new and existing customers.
We’re seeking a driven commercially, minded professional with a strategic view on business development.
You’ll be someone who builds trust, naturally, has a hunter mentality and loves partnering with businesses to sell high-tech space solutions.
Previous experience in selling products for the space industry is a strong asset but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Driving Sales Growth: You'll lead business development efforts for the Structures & Mechanisms product portfolio, striving to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Market Expertise & Analysis: Become the go-to expert on Structures & Mechanisms market needs, size, and opportunities. This involves continuously tracking state-of-the-art advancements, gathering competitive intelligence, attending industry events, and analyzing relevant publications.
- Pipeline Management: Develop and meticulously nurture a comprehensive Structures & Mechanisms sales pipeline within our CRM system, with a strategic outlook spanning three to five years.
- Commercial Expansion: Expand the commercial reach of our portfolio products by fostering strong relationships with Structures & Mechanisms customers and partners, and proactively identifying new commercial growth opportunities.
- Internal Communication: Ensure that all IBDM pursuits & discussions are effectively communicated to relevant internal stakeholders, including the General Manager, program management, finance, contracts, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Target Achievement: Consistently meet quarterly and annual sales targets.
Forecasting and Reporting: Create, maintain, and regularly present accurate Structures & Mechanisms sales forecasts.
- Product Roadmap Support: Collaborate with the technical team to develop, maintain, and champion the portfolio's product roadmaps.
- Bid & Proposal coordination:: Lead the bid and proposal strategy, define timelines, and coordinate the team to secure new business opportunities by delivering profitable bids with innovative and effective technical solutions.
- Industry Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant processes, policies, and standards within the sales and business development discipline.
What You'll Bring……
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree with ideally. 3-5 yrs in a Technical Sales and/or Engineering environment.
- Sales & Bid Management: Demonstrated success in bid planning and management, with prior experience in sales and business development.
- Leadership in Proposals: Experience leading teams through the bid and proposal process.
- New Business: Demonstrated sales experience within a high tech environment, ideally with a focus on structures and mechanisms.
- Strong Networker: A strong communicator and natural networker
- Multi-Bid Capability: The ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- International Mobility: Willingness to travel internationally for conferences, speaking engagements, and customer meetings.
Contracts & Compliance: Understanding of commercial business agreements & bid process.
- CRM Experience (Preferred): Experience using Salesforce or similar tools is a plus.
- Onsite in Europe: Regular travel to work on-site and bounce ideas with the sales teams.
- Language: Business Level in English
