I Main Responsibilities:
1 Legal Advice and Support:
* Advise internal teams (operations, sales, HR) on all legal matters related to international transport, logistics, and customs brokerage activities.
* Analyze and draft contracts (transport contracts, customer/supplier agreements, partnership agreements, etc.).
* Conduct legal monitoring on relevant sector regulations (transport, customs, Belgian and European social law).
2 Pre-litigation and Litigation Management:
* Identify, assess, and prevent legal risks.
* Manage disputes from the amicable phase (formal notices, negotiation) through to litigation (monitoring cases with external lawyers, preparing files, participating in mediations/hearings if necessary).
* Specifically handle disputes related to freight transport, contractual liabilities, customs penalties, and conflicts under Belgian social law.
3 Operational and Commercial Support:
* Actively participate in the development of commercial proposals by identifying and securing contractual aspects.
* Train and raise awareness among sales and operational teams on legal risks and best practices.
* Contribute to the optimization of internal processes for better legal and contract management.
II Required Profile:
* University degree in Law (preferably a Master's with a specialization in Transport Law, International Law, or Social Law).
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a lawyer, ideally within the transport, logistics, customs brokerage sector, or in a specialized law firm.
* In-depth knowledge of Belgian social/employment law (employment contracts, well-being at work, collective bargaining agreements, etc.) is essential.
Mandatory Language Skills:
* French or German: Native-level fluency for professional oral and written use.
* English: Professional proficiency (contracts, international communication).
* Proficiency with office tools and ability to work with legal software or contract management systems.
