As our client scale, they are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to build and lead people operations from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the culture, processes, and team during a transformative phase of rapid growth.
What You’ll Do
* Own Recruitment End-to-End: Lead hiring efforts across functions from writing job posts to final offers, attracting mission-aligned talent who thrive in a fast-moving, science-driven environment.
* Drive Payroll & Benefits Admin: Partner with an external payroll provider to ensure timely processing, regulatory compliance, and smooth benefits administration.
* Build Scalable HR Processes: Design and roll out systems for onboarding, performance reviews, development plans, and offboarding that grow with the company.
* Lead HR Digitalization: Migrate personnel records to a secure digital platform, ensuring full compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
* Support Learning & Development: Identify training needs and organize initiatives to upskill our teams and support career progression.
* Oversee Fleet Logistics: Manage the small company car fleet—including allocation and maintenance—ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
* Compensation & Benefits Strategy: Help shape competitive, market-aligned compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
* Manage Security Clearances: Coordinate security authorization processes for employees working in regulated areas (e.g., GMP or nuclear-controlled zones).
* Relocation & Work Permits: Support international hires with work permits and relocation logistics, ensuring a smooth transition to Belgium.
* Champion Culture & Engagement: Be a trusted point of contact for employees and help cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and energizing workplace.
* Ensure Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of employment law and industry regulations, keeping HR policies up to date and risk-free.
* Performance & Feedback Loops: Implement lightweight but effective performance management systems that promote accountability and growth.
* Use HR Data for Good: Monitor key HR metrics to inform hiring plans, retention strategies, and organizational decisions.
* Cross-Functional Teaming: Work closely with finance and operations to ensure people initiatives are aligned with business goals.
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years in a generalist or HR leadership role, ideally in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
* Experience implementing digital HR tools and processes.
* Strong understanding of Belgian labour law; experience in regulated industries like biotech, pharma, or energy is a plus.
* Hands-on experience with payroll processes and benefit coordination.
* Familiarity with work permits, international hires, or security clearance procedures is an advantage.
