About the Role
As a Project Manager for our Data department, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of a diverse portfolio of data-centric projects. You will lead critical initiatives ranging from internal data improvements to the complex data workstreams of larger business transformations. You are responsible for the end-to-end management of these projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required scope and quality.
In addition to standard project management, this role has a strong focus on resource optimization and data-driven project insights, requiring you to analyze project performance data and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Resource Management
1. Develop, own, and manage comprehensive project plans, defining scope, deliverables, timelines, and detailed resource requirements.
2. Resource Planning & Allocation: Create and maintain a structured resource plan across the data project portfolio, ensuring the right skills are assigned to the right tasks at the right time.
3. Resource Follow-up: Actively monitor resource utilization and availability. Identify potential bottlenecks or overallocation and proactively adjust plans to maintain project momentum.
4. Manage project budgets effectively, tracking expenditures and ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet project goals.
Risk & Issue Management
5. Proactively identify, assess, and document project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
6. Manage the project's issue log, ensuring that roadblocks are addressed promptly and escalated when necessary to ensure project momentum.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
7. Act as the primary point of contact for the project, managing stakeholder expectations through clear and consistent communication across different business units.
8. Prepare and deliver regular status reports, dashboards, and presentations to the project team, leadership, and steering committees.
9. Facilitate all project-related meetings, including kick-offs, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and achieve their objectives.
Cross Team Coordination
10. Lead and motivate a cross-functional project team, fostering a collaborative environment to drive performance and achieve project milestones.
11. Coordinate the activities of internal team members and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
Your profile
12. Master's degree (or equivalent by experience) in a relevant field such as Business Administration, IT, or a related discipline.
13. Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex, technical projects.
14. Essential: Hands-on experience managing a variety of data-intensive projects. This must include experience with business transformation projects that have a significant data component, such as M&A integrations, system consolidations, or large-scale data analytics initiatives.
15. Deep expertise in project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
16. Strong proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira or similar tools).
17. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills with a proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
18. Strategic and analytical mindset combined with a practical, hands-on approach to getting things done.
19. Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
