Tradition is currently seeking to appoint a Credit Risk Support Analyst to be based in our Madrid office.
Main responsibilities within the Credit Risk Support Analyst position include:
* Conducting credit assessments and delivering independent, well-supported credit opinions on a diverse portfolio of global financial institution counterparties.
* Performing regular reviews of counterparty credit exposures and adjusting credit limits in line with changing risk profiles.
* Monitoring macroeconomic trends, market indicators, and daily news to proactively identify and assess emerging risks.
* Collaborating with Front Office teams on transaction approvals and providing support via a credit risk hotline.
* Producing and contributing to various internal risk reports to support decision-making and oversight.
* Assisting in the development and refinement of internal counterparty credit rating models.
* Contributing to the creation and ongoing improvement of Risk Management policies, guidelines, and procedures across the Group.
* Supporting the development and maintenance of risk management systems, ensuring data quality and integrity within those systems.
* Promoting risk awareness by providing support, education, and training to staff across the organisation.
* Liaising with Local Risk Managers to ensure consistency and alignment in risk practices and assessments.
Key skills and experience required in this role:
* Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CFA certification is an advantage.
* Solid knowledge of credit analysis for financial institutions, including banks, funds, asset managers, brokers, or insurers.
* 1–3 years of experience as a Credit Officer, with responsibility for a portfolio of financial institutions—preferably including exposure to emerging markets.
* Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as French or Spanish are advantageous.
* Ability to execute tasks precisely and reliably.
* Strong analytical mind-set with excellent attention to detail.
* Good business acumen and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Confidence and professionalism in engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* A collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed.
* Adaptable, flexible, and open-minded approach to work.
* Strong IT proficiency, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
