For our growing HR team, we are looking for an HR Operations Lead to elevate the payroll and HR processes in Belgium (125 employees) and the Netherlands (45 employees).

What will you do?

As Team Lead HR Operations, you will be the driving force behind our HR processes. You will ensure that everything related to onboarding, advancement, outboarding, and payroll runs smoothly and in accordance with legislation and internal agreements. You will translate group policy into clear procedures and tools and guide the HR Operations team and team leads in their implementation. You'll be responsible for providing reliable, responsive HR services where employees feel well-supported and where people experience, business goals, and legal compliance are perfectly balanced.

You won't be alone: you'll be supported by two strong colleagues – an HR Officer in Belgium (focusing on payroll, personnel administration, and training organization) and an HR Manager in the Netherlands, who will also help implement Dutch policy and be the first point of contact for local managers. Together, you'll form the HR Operations team, which you'll lead.

More specifically, you'll:

* Translate HR policy into clear practice in Belgium/the Netherlands:
You'll be responsible for implementing group-wide HR policies (contracts, leave, absence, comp&ben, onboarding/offboarding, prevention, etc.) into clear and efficient procedures, tools, templates, checklists, and FAQs. You'll ensure that team leaders and HR know what to do and when. You'll monitor legislation and trends and ensure all processes remain up-to-date.
* Monitoring the quality of HR processes and files:
You ensure that onboarding, change, and offboarding, contract changes, absences, and personnel administration are processed correctly and on time. You monitor checklists, documentation, and timing, provide feedback, and make adjustments where necessary.
* Acting as a sparring partner and escalation point for team leads (BE)
: In complex situations (repeated absences, conflicts, warnings, low performance, contract scenarios), you are their point of contact. You help them build files, prepare for meetings, and make sound decisions that balance people, business, and legal.
* Coordinating payroll & payroll (BE/NL)
: You coordinate the monthly payroll preparation and checks for BE and NL, together with HR Ops, HR NL, and the payroll providers. You manage the payroll and payroll policy and ensure it is correctly translated into payslips, contracts, and communications. You also provide the necessary tools for all our brands and keep them up to date. Manage, monitor, and propose improvements to data: You set up and track HR data and translate findings into concrete improvement actions: more streamlined processes, better explanations, automation, and additional information for managers.
* Manage and grow the team
: You provide direction to the HR Ops team: you lead and monitor priorities and service levels, and coach your colleagues on their content and service mindset. This way, you build a small, strong team that delivers reliably and continuously improves.
* You work closely with the HR director & BP
, who is responsible for strategy, the link with the business, and directly manage talent acquisition, experience, and development.

Who are you?

* You are an experienced HR expert with strong HR Ops knowledge (particularly in Belgium)
: You have several years of experience in HR operations and payroll. You are well-versed in Belgian labor and social legislation; basic knowledge of Dutch is a plus, or you are willing to quickly familiarize yourself with it. You always think in terms of the triangle: employee – business – legal: You have an eye for what's fair and human, but also for planning, costs, and risk. You can clearly explain why you choose a particular solution and its impact.
* You are analytical and solution-oriented
: You quickly identify patterns in errors, questions, or absences and think in terms of causes instead of just symptoms. You thrive on processes that are constantly improving and becoming more efficient.
* You have strong process and implementation skills
: Translating policy into workable steps, clear flows, and practical tools is second nature to you. You enjoy structuring, standardizing, and optimizing things. You maintain an overview, even when many things are happening simultaneously (payroll, cases, projects).
* You communicate clearly and are not afraid to challenge:
You explain rules and procedures clearly, even to non-HR professionals. You are not afraid to take the lead.
* Guiding and coaching colleagues and managers on the content
, while maintaining strong relationships.
* You are flexible enough to work from our various offices
: You enjoy moving between our offices in Brussels, Londerzeel, Herentals, and Ghent (occasionally in the Netherlands).
* You are fluent in English, Dutch, and French.
