As Virya Energy continues to grow and navigates the requirements of being an NIS2 Essential entity, we need a hands‑on expert who can bridge the gap between strategy and technical execution. /p h3Your role: /h3 ul liThe primary technical advisor to the CISO, keeping IT, OT and business teams secure, resilient and compliant. /li liOwn the technical security domain and manage and oversee day‑to‑day security operations and our external SOC partner. /li liLend expertise to architectural decisions and cross‑functional projects. /li /ul h3Key Responsibilities: /h3 h3NIS2 Compliance Governance /h3 ul liLead the technical implementation of NIS2 requirements. /li liTranslate abstract regulatory requirements (NIS2, ISO 27001) into concrete technical controls and procedures. /li liAssist the CISO in maintaining the security policy framework and ensure policies are technically enforceable within our infrastructure. /li /ul h3Security Operations SOC Management /h3 ul liAct as a Point‑of‑Contact for our external SOC MSSP. /li liReview SOC reports, validate alerts and coordinate remediation of detected vulnerabilities. /li liCoordinate the internal response to security incidents, ensuring seamless communication between the SOC and internal IT teams. /li liDrive the adoption of security controls across the organization. /li /ul h3Security Architecture Project Support /h3 ul liApply “Security by Design” principles to new IT projects, ensuring security is embedded in the development lifecycle and infrastructure services. /li liReview low‑level technical designs and provide architectural advice on common cyber capabilities. /li liAct as a liaison between the CISO office and the Business Line ICT departments to ensure security tools are deployed effectively without hindering business performance. /li /ul h3IT/OT Convergence /h3 ul liServe as the bridge between IT security and OT domains. /li liUse your understanding of OT environments to ensure IT security measures do not disrupt energy production or grid operations. /li liCollaborate with engineers to maintain “Purdue Model” separation and secure remote access points. /li liSupport alignment with OT security standards (IEC 62443). /li /ul h3Job Requirements /h3 ul liExperience level: 5–10 years in Information Security. /li liGood knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and the practical implications of NIS2. /li liFluent in English; good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is highly desirable for effective communication with the business teams. /li liStrong understanding of technical architecture, including Microsoft 365 Security Compliance stack, Cloud Security, Network Security, Endpoint Protection and hardening. /li liNice to have: Familiarity with OT standards and/or experience in the Energy or Utilities sector. /li liExcellent at explaining complex technical risks to non‑technical stakeholders and leadership; comfortable acting as the “technical voice” of the CISO office. /li liVendor management experience: ability to manage external partners and hold them accountable to SLAs and deliverables. /li liPragmatic approach: balance “perfect security” with business agility; look for workable solutions, not just problems. /li liOnly candidates residing in Belgium with a valid residence and work permit will be considered. /li /ul h3Offer /h3 ul liJoin a fast‑growing developer shaping the energy transition in Belgium and beyond. /li liA full‑time job with an open‑ended contract (no consulting). /li liBenefits such as a green company car, meal vouchers, group insurance, and health care insurance for you and your family members. /li liFlexible workplace: homeworking up to 2–3 days per week. /li /ul pOur offices are currently located in Braine‑l'Alleud.
