Job Description – Business Controller Location: Kortrijk (4 days onsite)Contract: 1-year contractLanguages: Dutch & English required; French is a plusAbout the RoleWe are seeking an analytical, solution‑minded Business Controller to strengthen our controlling function and act as a true partner to operational teams. This role requires someone who can translate figures into business insights, challenge stakeholders constructively, and support decision‑making in a non‑technical, accessible way.You will collaborate closely with functional teams, management, and the wider finance organisation, ensuring financial processes run smoothly and that the business is supported with accurate and meaningful analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a trusted business partner to operational teams, providing financial insights that support both strategic decisions and day‑to‑day performance.Analyse monthly results, budgets, and forecasts, identifying key drivers, trends, and deviations with clear explanations for stakeholders.Translate complex financial data into understandable, actionable insights for non‑technical audiences across the organisation.Support the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all controlling and reporting tasks.Develop, track, and improve operational KPIs that link business activities to financial outcomes.Collaborate closely with the Controlling Manager to improve processes, tools, and reporting methodologies.Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis, and recommendations to influence business planning and operational efficiency.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping streamline reporting cycles, enhance data quality, and optimise SAP‑related workflows.Build strong relationships across departments, promoting a culture of transparency, accountability, and data‑driven decision‑making.Skills & Experience RequiredStrong analytical mindset with a solution‑focused approach.Ability to understand the link between operational activities and financial results.Experience engaging and challenging business stakeholders.Excellent communication skills—able to explain figures clearly to non‑technical audiences.SAP S/4HANA experience is a strong bonus.Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an advantage.
