The project:

Our client in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced Data Visualisation Specialist to strengthen their team.

The Data Visualization Specialists support the internal customers and realize several different data reporting and visualization projects by:

• Understanding and identifying, together with the stakeholders, their visualization and reporting needs,
• Capturing the requirements and translating them into a prototype and a full dashboard,
• Collecting and assembling the data in support of prototyping of visualizations with the customer,
• Developing, updating, optimizing, publishing & decommissioning (= full life-cycle) of dashboards/reports respecting the data & reporting governance guidelines,
• Striving for the most optimal solution for the development and automation of reports and dashboard
• Collaborating with Data Engineers in creating the adequate sustainable data solutions and/or having the existing ones evolve in line with new needs (data assets) underlying recurrent and/or critical reportings (regulatory, strategic, tactical and/or operational), in line with the data strategy whenever relevant), and as such promoting reuse and consistency (versus silo’s),
• Setting-up, advocating and implementing reporting and visualization best practices, according to the guidelines and standards defined
• Being the guardian & ambassador of this governance put in place,
• Documenting and training users on how to effectively maximize the different tools.
• Working on various OPC optimisation projects (using new technologies for data)
• Delivering periodic OPC reporting based on the new developments

Is this you?

• Fluent in Dutch, French and English
• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to prepare data for visualisation purposes and to build a clear story to support decision making and the identification of the right solution for the right need
• Ability to visualise data and design dashboards
• Knowledge about data concepts such as DataWarehouses, DataMarts, data extraction and preparation processes
• Understanding of the importance of governance and security rules when handling data
• Understanding and Knowledge of the data strategy
• Tools : data reporting and visualisation tools (advanced MS Office - Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
• Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of SAS
• Knowledge of Python
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and synthesize messages
• Ability to negotiate and build relationships with internal stakeholders
• Experience in banking or financial services
• Knowledge of data governance and GDPR compliance
