Responsibilities
The Investment Manager is a key point of contact who supports Private Bankers in providing investment advice. They assist in presenting the investment solutions offered by Deutsche Bank, ensuring alignment with the client’s needs and objectives.
Relying on a broad range of asset classes and the expertise of the bank’s dedicated product specialists, the Investment Manager helps highlight Deutsche Bank’s capabilities across credit and financing, deposits, discretionary and advisory portfolio management, capital markets, private markets, alternative investments, and wealth planning.
The Investment Manager also plays an active role in business development by supporting Private Bankers in their efforts to acquire new clients. They participate in client presentations and contribute to promoting Deutsche Bank’s investment expertise and solutions.
As an Investment Manager, you:
* Work closely with Private Bankers to address clients’ investment needs and expectations, while being responsible for increasing the investment share of existing clients; support them in their efforts to acquire new clients, notably by participating in client presentations and showcasing Deutsche Bank Wealth Management’s expertise.
* Collaborate effectively with key internal partners, including discretionary portfolio managers, portfolio managers, and DB WM product specialists, to deliver the bank’s best investment solutions, capabilities, and insights.
* Proactively identify client needs and related opportunities, offering tailored solutions across capital markets, discretionary and advisory mandates, alternative investments, as well as financing and lending solutions.
* Organize and conduct regular (quarterly, semi-annual, annual) reviews of client portfolios and business relationships, in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders, identifying any gaps and implementing necessary adjustments.
* Act in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical standards, complying with all internal and external regulations, as well as the code of ethics and conduct; while identifying and managing reputational risks and potential conflicts of interest.
Skills
* Proficient in presenting capital market outlooks using both a strategic (top-down) and a management (bottom-up) approach, enabling clear justification of proposed allocations and solutions based on investment objectives and market conditions; strong ability to generate relevant and innovative investment ideas.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong client service orientation, showing uncompromising professional integrity, strong communication skills, both written and verbal; and able to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple locations.
* Solid understanding of the applicable regulatory framework (e.g., RDR, MiFID II), including confidentiality, data protection, and cross-border regulations where relevant.
* University degree or equivalent; CFA or PBA certifications are a plus. Proven experience of 5 years or more in portfolio construction and asset allocation, with a deep understanding of the specific needs of private and high-net-worth clients (U/HNWI); Demonstrated track record of success in building a client portfolio, in leading investment discussions with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
* Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
