Join us as an Infrastructure Security Engineer. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of Nexova's Security Operations Centre. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the technical infrastructure that supports threat detection, incident response, and compliance. This includes managing security tools, supporting audits, enabling team readiness, and contributing to the overall cyber resilience of the organization. You will be part of a dynamic team of analysts, engineers, consultants, and specialists with the determination to provide excellent cybersecurity services, both internally and externally.
This position will be based at our Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in Transinne, a village in the Belgian municipality of Libin.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
* Deploying, configuring and maintaining the infrastructure consisting of network appliances, physical and virtualized servers.
* Supporting the SOC's infrastructure, patching, connectivity, backup, and redundancy.·
* Security tool management: administering and optimizing various security tools and technologies used within the SOC, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions, and other supporting tools for daily operations.
* Planning, preparing, and executing system tests; evaluating test results against specifications and requirements; and reporting test results and findings.
* Documenting the SOC network and infrastructure, including changes.· Implementing security controls across the organization's infrastructure, ensuring compliance with internal and external security standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIS2).
* Participating in internal and external security audits, assisting in preparing the environment for inspection and gathering necessary evidence.
* Provide training to SOC Analysts and other internal teams on the use of security tools and infrastructure.
* Assistance with SOC customer due diligence, onboarding, and continuous improvement.
* Continuous learning and adaptation: staying informed about the latest security trends and technologies and adapting to new methods and tools in the cybersecurity landscape.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
* At least 3 years of professional experience.
* In-depth knowledge of administration of Linux Operating Systems.
* In-depth knowledge of administration of networks solutions, including switches, firewalls VPN, proxy, IDS/IPS.
* Knowledge of secure network architecture and segmentation principles.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of security concepts, technologies and best practices.
* Experience in developing scripts (bash Linux, Python).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document incidents, communicate findings and provide recommendations.
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address security issues effectively.
* Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with the latest security technologies, tools and industry best practices.
* Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape.
* Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
* Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
* Security clearance (EU Secret) will be necessary; therefore, only nationals of the EU countries will be considered for this role.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
* Experience working in a SOC environment.
