Electrical Engineer - Power Systems Expert

You get the chance to build up knowhow, develop and maintain long-term maintenance strategies in the field of maintenance on excitation systems and other electrical equipment such as static frequency converters, variable frequency drives, protection systems.

Your goal is to become an expert in the field in order to support both ENGIE and non-ENGIE sites. You will ensure the day by day technical support of the different electrical maintenance teams within EMS, which takes up 15 à 20% of your time.
\
You will initiate and realize improvement and replacement projects on electrical equipment, play a key role in the preparation, execution and consolidation of overhauls on electrical equipment, conduct Root-Cause Analyses and define corrective and preventive actions in the case of incidents or non-conformities observed during outages.

To become an expert you will also constantly develop and consolidate your knowhow by driving internal return of experience processes and through participation to internal and external network events. You work as a team and in collaboration with different internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must hold a Master Degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering in Electricity/Power Systems/Energy/Mathematics /Physics. You should have a professional knowledge of English and French or Dutch. Strong analytical skills are required as well as being a problem solver who wants to further develop your knowledge in the electrical field.

We are looking for a team player who works together towards common goals. As a good communicator, you are able to collaborate with various types of people: both technicians and engineers. Previous experience with OEMs and understanding of grid requirements is a plus.
