Job Overview
Automation (AVEVA) Engineer – Capgemini Engineering, Brussels, Belgium. Focus on automation systems, PLC logic, and AVEVA platform support with strong emphasis on debugging, monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze PLC backups: navigate, identify relevant logic, and interpret operations.
* General understanding of PLC functionality (Siemens preferred).
* No programming required, but ability to read Ladder, Block, and SCL logic.
* Debug, monitor, and troubleshoot Aveva platform communication, performance, and logs.
* Interpret security routines: backup/restore, IT interactions, and Active Directory integration.
* Understand Aveva software structure and duplicate or adapt existing objects.
* Write SQL queries for data extraction and reporting; troubleshoot SSRS/SSMS issues.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering (or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience).
* Strong PLC logic interpretation and backup navigation skills.
* Experience debugging, monitoring, and object handling on AVEVA platforms.
* Proficiency in SQL, SSMS, and SSRS for report writing and troubleshooting.
* Fluent in English; good proficiency in French.
