As Micro CT - Research & Development - Engineering Manager, you lead the end-to-end creation and evolution of advanced solutions within a Business Unit. You ensure innovation, product improvements, and technology advances are delivered with discipline, quality, and alignment to Tescan's long-term technology roadmap.
What You'll Do
Translate Business Unit strategy and the corporate technology roadmap into clear, executable R&D plans.
Lead concept development, feasibility studies, detailed engineering, and release-to-manufacturing activities.
Prioritize projects and allocate resources to maximize impact and time-to-market.
Partner closely with Product Management to turn customer and market needs into robust engineering requirements.
Collaborate with Applications, Service, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure performance, usability, compliance, and scalability.
Build, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary R&D team with strong accountability and engineering discipline.
Establish effective project governance, milestones, risk management, and transparent reporting.
Drive innovation, design-for-manufacture, design-for-serviceability, and lifecycle optimization.
Manage R&D budgets, resource planning, and investment proposals while tracking key performance indicators.
What You'll Bring
A Master's or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related high-technology discipline.
Extensive experience leading R&D and engineering teams in advanced instrumentation, precision technology, or complex electromechanical systems.
Confidence guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex products on time, on budget, and at high quality.
A strong systems-engineering mindset, spanning mechanical, electrical, software, and control domains.
The ability to translate market needs into clear technical direction through close cross-functional collaboration.
Experience supporting industrialization, production ramp-up, serviceability, and full product lifecycle stewardship.
Clear, persuasive communication skills and the ability to influence across a global organization.
Fluency in English, with additional languages as a welcome advantage.
