Our client is a fast-growing European company with headquarters in Lausanne and a manufacturing facility in the South of Paris. They design and produce Photonic Integrated Circuits applications in Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies and Biosensors.
We are now looking for a
Photonic Design Engineer
to be based in Lausanne.
Job Description
Key scope of the Photonic Design Engineer (SiN / TFLN):
Design & develop integrated photonic components and circuits
for both customer-driven projects and strategic roadmap initiatives.
* Advanced passive components leveraging the company's SiN platform
* Active component integration via hybrid and heterogeneous assembly (photodiodes, modulators).
Drive design and layout methodology
for new technology development:
* Create early-stage process-design kits for R&D engagement.
* Optimise design and layout code reusability, implementing industry best practices.
* Contribute to the development of device, fabrication, and test databases.
Collaborate across teams
:
* Work with the characterization team to support test planning, design for testability and data analysis.
* Coordinate with process and yield engineering teams for manufacturability requirements and test structures.
* Support mask assembly, tape-out management, and documentation.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications for the Photonic Design Engineer (SiN / TFLN) :
* MSc or PhD in photonics, optics, physics or related fields.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in integrated optics design ideally in an industrial environment.
* Hands-on experience with photonic design tools,
* Experience with active components (III-V) and heterogeneous integration is a plus.
* Experience setting up design and layout databases is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills in English and experience working with remote teams.
