About Our Client
Our client is a fast-growing European company with headquarters in Lausanne and a manufacturing facility in the South of Paris. They design and produce Photonic Integrated Circuits applications in Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies and Biosensors.
We are now looking for a Photonic Design Engineer to be based in Lausanne.
Job Description
Key scope of the Photonic Design Engineer (SiN / TFLN): Design & develop integrated photonic components and circuits for both customer-driven projects and strategic roadmap initiatives.
Advanced passive components leveraging the company's SiN platform
Active component integration via hybrid and heterogeneous assembly (photodiodes, modulators).
Drive design and layout methodology for new technology development:
Create early-stage process-design kits for R&D engagement.
Optimise design and layout code reusability, implementing industry best practices.
Contribute to the development of device, fabrication, and test databases.
Collaborate across teams:
Work with the characterization team to support test planning, design for testability and data analysis.
Coordinate with process and yield engineering teams for manufacturability requirements and test structures.
Support mask assembly, tape-out management, and documentation.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications for the Photonic Design Engineer (SiN / TFLN) :
MSc or PhD in photonics, optics, physics or related fields.
Minimum 3 years' experience in integrated optics design ideally in an industrial environment.
Hands-on experience with photonic design tools,
Experience with active components (III-V) and heterogeneous integration is a plus.
Experience setting up design and layout databases is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills in English and experience working with remote teams.
