Imec is shaping the workplace of the future. As part of our ITOT enterprise architecture program, we are looking for a solution architect to help design and govern integrated systems that support access, safety, mobility, and automation across our high-tech campus.
What you will do
As a solution architect, you will be responsible for capturing and translating business needs and requirements into robust technical designs and integration governance for smart workplace and facility systems. You will ensure consistency across hardware and software components, and guide the implementation of scalable, secure, and future proof solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (ICT, Facility, EHS, Security) and external integrators to translate business needs into robust technical architectures.
Your responsibilities:
* Define and maintain the solution architecture for workplace systems (access control, RTLS, smart parking, etc.)
* Align with enterprise architecture and integration landscape.
* Create and enforce architectural guidelines and standards.
* Govern the system catalog and templates (e.g. door setups, network, software).
* Validate as-built documentation to guarantee alignment with catalog standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure the solution integrates seamlessly with existing systems and complies with relevant regulations and standards.
* Support installation and commissioning activities.
* Participate in RFP processes and vendor selection.
* Provide hands-on technical validation and support during pilot phases.
* Collaborate with service owners and operational teams to ensure smooth handover and lifecycle management.
* Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions deliver measurable value and meet strategic objectives.
You will contribute to the design and rollout of key initiatives within the ITOT Workplace program:
* Access control and intrusion detection solutions.
* Contractor management systems.
* Visitor management platforms.
* Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS).
* Smart parking and mobility solutions.
* Long-term digital twin strategy and automation framework.

Who you are
* Bachelor's degree in ICT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in solution architecture, preferably in workplace or facility domains.
* Strong understanding of integration principles, security, and system lifecycle.
* Hands-on mindset with the ability to validate and troubleshoot technical setups.
* Experience with enterprise tooling (e.g. ServiceNow, MQTT, Kafka, Sentinel) is a plus.
* Fluent in English; Dutch is an asset.
