Mechanical design engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at SII Group Belgium. You would join various teams working for projects in Aeronautic, Space & Defense.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications
• Performing concept development supported by hand calculations, analytical methods, and Finite Element Analysis (FEM)
• Creating and updating 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications
• Contributing to the dimensioning and validation of parts (strength, fatigue, thermal, vibration)
• Participating in design reviews and proposing technical improvements or alternative solutions
• Supporting qualification and certification activities, including compliance demonstration (e.g. according to aerospace standards)
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams (systems, manufacturing, quality)

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience in mechanical design within aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries is a plus
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and materials
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (CATIA, Creo,...)
• Understanding of certification constraints and standards
• Ability to work in a complex, regulated environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English or French ; both is a plus
