What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a dynamic, Brussels-based Public Policy and Business Development Manager to join its growing Energy EMEA team.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping European political, regulatory, and market frameworks that accelerate Tesla Energy's mission across the continent.
Your work will focus on advancing the deployment and market access of Tesla Energy solutions—including Megapack, Megablock, Autobidder, Powerwall, and EV charging (V2X)—within the EU institutional ecosystem.
You will engage with EU policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders to ensure that European energy and industrial policies enable innovation, competition, and decarbonization.
Over time, your remit may expand to other EMEA jurisdictions to replicate successful strategies and partnerships.
What You'll Do
* Lead Tesla's EU energy and industrial policy engagement—focusing on energy storage, demand-side flexibility (including V2X), manufacturing, and market optimization frameworks.
* Develop and maintain high-impact relationships with European institutions (European Commission, Parliament, Council, and related agencies), Permanent Representations, and key trade associations.
* Monitor, analyze, and shape EU legislation and initiatives, including those related to the Clean Industrial Deal, Net-Zero Industry Act, Electricity Market Design, and related policy and regulatory files.
* Identify and mitigate regulatory barriers while proactively developing solutions and advocacy strategies that unlock new business opportunities for Tesla Energy.
* Deliver strategic insights and policy impact assessments to Tesla leadership, with clear recommendations on engagement priorities and business implications.
* Coordinate closely with Tesla's global policy, regulatory, commercial, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and consistency in positioning across markets.
* Support policy and regulatory engagement in other EMEA markets as required, leveraging Brussels outcomes and networks.
What You'll Bring
* 5+ years of experience in EU public policy, government affairs, or regulatory engagement, within the energy or industrial sectors.
* Demonstrated success influencing EU policy or legislative outcomes and navigating complex institutional landscapes.
* Solid understanding of European power markets, energy storage, demand response, or EV charging regulation.
* Background in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Economics, or Engineering.
* Proven strategic communication and negotiation skills; ability to convey technical concepts to policymakers and non-experts alike.
* Deep alignment with Tesla's mission and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset with resilience and curiosity.
* Integrity, discretion, and collaborative attitude when working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in another major EU language is an advantage.
* Comfortable leveraging AI tools and data-driven insights in policy research and stakeholder engagement.
* Willingness to travel across Europe (approximately 20% travel).
