Virtualization & Storage System Engineer
Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – minimum 2 days/week onsite)

We are looking for an experienced Virtualization & Storage System Engineer to manage, optimize, and evolve enterprise virtualization, backup, and storage environments supporting mission-critical applications and services.
Key responsibilities
* Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for virtualization and backup platforms
* Design, administer, and maintain Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere environments
* Implement and manage high-availability, clustering, and resilient infrastructure solutions
* Design, implement, and operate enterprise backup and data protection solutions for virtual environments
* Define and enforce backup SLAs, RPOs, and RTOs
* Configure backup policies, retention rules, restore procedures, reporting, and long-term archiving
* Automate provisioning and operational tasks related to virtualization, backup, and monitoring
* Develop scripts for backup, restore, maintenance, deployment, and monitoring activities
* Proactively monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and storage usage
* Contribute to Disaster Recovery Planning, restore testing, and recovery scenario validation
* Participate in DR tests and continuous improvement of recovery procedures
* Investigate incidents and communicate clearly in case of service impact or SLA breaches
* Maintain accurate operational documentation for 1st and 2nd line support teams

Profile
* Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure/virtualization engineering
* At least 2 years in a senior role with end-to-end technical ownership
* Strong hands-on expertise with Nutanix AHV and/or VMware vSphere
* Solid experience with enterprise backup, archiving, and data protection solutions
* Good knowledge of SAN and storage technologies
* Strong understanding of Windows Server environments in virtualized infrastructures
* Good understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP
* Experience with monitoring and reporting tools in enterprise environments
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and optimization
* Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced production environment
* Team-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable sharing best practices
Languages
* Fluent in English
* Good command of Dutch and/or French (passive knowledge of one national language is required)

* Hybrid working model – minimum 2 days per week onsite
