This means more work for developers, who need to become security experts and ensure their platforms are secure. But it’s hard. The market is riddled with overcomplicated, expensive tools that aren’t fit for developers. So, we founded Aikido.

Role
We are looking for a Legal Counsel (Commercial, Data & Compliance) to team up with our General Counsel and keep Aikido’s legal engine running. We’re talking about contracts, IP, data, compliance, and the occasional M&A. This is a hands-on role for someone sharp, curious, and eager to dive into the fast lane of a growing SaaS scale-up.
Responsibilities
* Review, negotiate, and close commercial contracts (customers & suppliers), mostly in the US, UK & Australia
* Data protection (GDPR) and compliance, including the upcoming AI Act
* Contract management & pragmatic legal advice to sales, product, and management teams
* Support in IP matters (licensing, trademarks, open source) and M&A transactional work
* Support in HR-related matters and corporate housekeeping
* Explore and implement legal tech & AI tools to help us move fast
Qualifications
* Master of Laws and 3–6 years' experience in tech or a law firm (commercial/IT law)
* Strong knowledge of contract law & GDPR
* Experience negotiating with international counterparties
* Fluent in Dutch & English. French or Spanish is a plus, but not required
* Bonus points if you’ve worked on IP, M&A, or hold an LL.M. in the US or another international specialization
