Freelance Senior Validation & Calibration Engineer – Veterinary Pharmaceuticals

Position Summary
We are looking for a freelance Validation & Calibration Engineer to plan, execute, and document calibration and validation activities for production equipment in a veterinary pharmaceutical GMP environment. You will ensure that new and existing installations meet quality standards and regulatory requirements for the manufacture of veterinary medicines, contributing to a compliant and efficient production environment. This role works closely with QA, Production, and external suppliers and is central to qualification and validation projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and execute validation and qualification documentation for veterinary pharmaceutical production equipment
* Support installation and qualification projects for new equipment
* Review and approve validation documentation
* Perform periodic verification of critical instruments (calibrations, sterilization validation, etc.)
* Control and manage calibration certificates
* Conduct risk analyses (e.g., FMEA)
* Support audits and inspections
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects within engineering and quality
Candidate Profile
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Structured, quality-oriented, and administratively precise
* Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
* Able to organize your own work and communicate effectively
* Positive, pragmatic, and flexible; occasional weekend work is not an issue
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical/scientific field (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, etc.)
* 3–5 years of experience in validation and calibration in a GMP-regulated environment, preferably within veterinary pharmaceuticals
* Comfortable with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
* Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English
* Not allergic to penicillin or penicillin derivatives
