You’ll be working on Exadata (ExaCC), ZFS, and ZDLRA, driving real improvements in how databases perform, scale, and cost. This is a hands-on role with visibility, influence, and the chance to shape best practices across teams.
What you’ll do
* Optimise Oracle database performance through query tuning, compression, and indexing strategies
* Maximise ExaCC efficiency by fine-tuning CPU allocation and reducing waste
* Improve backup and recovery across ZFS and ZDLRA, balancing cost and reliability
* Partner with development teams to improve SQL quality and database design
* Lead and support key initiatives including Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades
* Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities across the database estate
* Own and maintain clear technical documentation (runbooks, SOPs, architecture)
* Mentor team members and run knowledge-sharing sessions to raise overall capability

* Bring experience across Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, or Azure Synapse into hybrid/multi-cloud optimisation
* Help define and share cross-platform best practices

* Strong Oracle DBA experience with a focus on performance tuning and optimisation
