At Astek, we are building our finance function in Belgium and are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our team.
You will work closely with our Accounting Manager Belgium, who brings solid expertise and will guide you in your development. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the internalization of accounting, tax, and treasury operations for our different Belgian entities.
Your Mission
As a Junior Accountant, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations and gradually take on more responsibilities as you gain experience.
Your tasks will include:
* Supporting daily accounting operations (accounts payable, receivable, journal entries).
* Reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
* Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Helping prepare VAT returns and other statutory declarations.
* Contributing to the processing of company payments.
* Supporting the review of issued invoices to ensure completeness and accuracy of recorded sales.
* Collaborating with auditors and external accounting firms when required.
* Providing support to the Accounting Manager on various accounting and financial tasks.
Your Profile
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* First internship or 1–2 years of experience in accounting is a plus, but recent graduates are welcome.
* Basic knowledge of Belgian accounting principles and VAT is an advantage.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel in particular).
* Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of Dutch is an additional advantage.
