The Group Technology Services (GTS) plans, builds and runs the global infrastructure of Euroclear, and is additionally responsible for the IT service management to the operating entities of the various Group markets. GTS operates its IT systems and IT services in such a way that, at an appropriate and benchmarked cost level, it can deliver the agreed levels of service to support the requirements of the business processes, for both normal operations and during disaster recovery.
The Virtual Infrastructure Services team is committed to bring the best computing experience to our Euroclear internal clients (platforms, office and business applications) via innovative virtualized services through its Converged and Hyper-Converged infrastructures.
About the role:
We are looking for a new member for our “Virtual Infrastructure Services” team to share their passion for IT infrastructure technologies and automation with the team.
This position is focused on the management, support and evolution of the Converged (Vxblock) / Hyper-Converged (Nutanix) infrastructure, different hypervisor technologies (vSphere, AHV), Cohesity backup, archiving solutions (Mobius) and infrastructure automation in a 24/7 production environment.
One of the primary goals of the virtualization engineer role will be to maintain, design and build these IT infrastructure technologies and deliver automation solutions for services offered by the team, to reduce manual efforts and increase team efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain our technologies within the IT infrastructure. This includes ensuring that all software and hardware components are up-to-date and functioning correctly
2. System Monitoring and Performance Tuning: implement and use monitoring tools to ensure system availability and performance. Perform routine system audits and capacity planning.
3. Collaboration and Documentation: work with development teams and other IT staff to support infrastructure needs and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems and procedures.
4. Security Management: implement and maintain security best practices for infrastructure, including patch management, antivirus solutions, and vulnerability assessments
5. (Support) the automation of recurrent activities
6. Propose harmonization of existing automation developments.
7. Participate in the Day-to-Day service support (incident, alerts, changes, …);
8. Provide on-call support during out-of-business hours (24/7 watch duty);
9. Take part in the disaster recovery management for the virtual infrastructure (RDR, SWAP, LDR, …);
10. Offer consulting services to “OS” teams (Windows, Linux, Office, Tandem, Mainframe), projects and other customers
11. Support the private cloud strategy in the organization.
12. Develop solutions based on analysis of business and technical requirements.
13. Develop architecture and design of projects
14. Develop effective relationships relationship with other key IT experts
15. Work in coordination with the Product Owner, Solution Architects and with other teams/tribes
Requirements:
16. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, service engineering or service operations
17. In depth experience with management of AHV and/or VMware virtualization environments
18. In depth experience with Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure and/or Dell Vxblock converged infrastructures
19. You are passionate about automation and DevOps
20. Knowledge and experience in Terraform, Ansible/Tower, PowerShell & python is a plus
21. Experience with storage infrastructure management (SAN,NAS, S3) is a plus
22. You are fluent in English, knowledge in French or Dutch is a plus
23. Working experience in an Agile context
