Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP HR GSC, the VP HRBL Vaccines Manufacturing is accountable for the strategic HR support for the Vaccines manufacturing sites located across the world, through a team of Site HR Leads. In this role you will be responsible for diagnosing and deploying the HR interventions required to deliver and improve the supply chain performance. You will be a member of the GSC HR leadership team and the Vaccines Manufacturing leadership team.

Key Responsibilities in Detail

1. Together with their colleagues of the GSC HR leadership team, you will contribute to the definition and delivery of the HR strategy supporting the innovation, performance, trust and culture ambition of the whole supply chain. The role particularly focuses on Talent, Inclusion, Culture, and Capability.
2. Talent: you will assess the talent situation in key roles and build the plan as a direct and actionable answer to the Vaccines Manufacturing group strategic imperatives for now and the future, taking into account quantitative and qualitative aspects. This is done in partnership with the leadership team, accountable for delivering the plan through recruitment, retention and appointment decisions.
3. Culture: leveraging people data insights, and aligning with the GSC Culture plan, you will define and ensure delivery of a plan that fosters the GSK culture, where people are ambitious for patients, accountable for impact, and doing the right thing. The plan focuses on the few, key initiatives that have the biggest impact. Key levers of culture change include the Vaccines leaders, the Employee Resource Groups, as well as the culture “ecosystem” (leader labs, culture champions). As a change agent, you are expected to role model the culture, with the Vaccines Manufacturing leadership team, the Site HR team, and at GSC HR leadership team. Success is regularly assessed through surveys and One80s, with a particularly focus on employee engagement, strength of leadership, GSK culture attributes and workplace inclusivity.
4. Leadership team: you will provide executive coaching to the leadership team, so they Care, Motivate, Develop and Focus, and behave as a High Performing Team.
5. Capability: as part of the Supply Chain 2030 ambition you will build the organisational capability required for now and the future for the Vaccines manufacturing group.
6. Industrial and Employee Relations: you will act as a strategic partner to support business transformations, organizational designs, with their related change management / consultations when required. Ensure that HR risks are proactively managed, particularly in the context of change programs, in all countries in scope, particularly in Belgium, Germany, Italy, and France.
7. Site HR team: as a people manager, you will demonstrate the GSK leadership traits – Motivate, Focus, Develop and Care. You will build a high performing team of Site HR Leads, through robust performance management as well as talent identification and development.
8. GSC HRLT: you will work closely with the other GSC HRBLs as well as the GSC People & Organisation Effectiveness Lead and Reward Lead and the Recruitment team.

Skills & Experience Required:

9. Undergraduate degree. A masters degree would be ideal
10. Significant HR experience supporting a complex, international organization and senior leaders
11. Robust understanding of manufacturing, ideally within the life sciences space or another highly regulated industry
12. Demonstrated strong influencing and coaching skills with senior leaders, and an ability to impact at scale, in an international, multi-cultural business and HR matrix.
13. Proven ability to understand the business from an external and internal perspective, and apply that knowledge to ensure that our business ambition is achieved through our people
14. Has built and delivered a talent plan, including a forward-thinking component, that delivers best in class talents in key leadership roles, based on the business strategic needs. Has successfully improved inclusion in their organisation. Has contributed to build a high performing team with their business leader.
15. Has designed and implemented a culture plan aligned to the Company culture, that increases employee engagement, fosters performance, contributes to an inclusive workplace, and drives accountability.
16. Has driven significant transformation programs, requiring significant management of industrial relations (in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy for instance), as well as organisational design and change management skills.
17. Ability to use data to generate insights to support business decision making, enhance performance and improve employee experience.
18. Familiar with a matrix HR function, where transactional services are delivered through digital tools, self-service, and global processes. Promotes the One HR function to leaders and employees.
19. Demonstrate strong self-awareness on their strengths and development areas as a leader – on the four dimensions of Motivate, Focus, Care and Develop.
20. Understands what it takes to be an enterprise leader in a matrixed environment and is comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, to shape the agenda and impact positively at all levels.
21. Has successfully contributed to senior HR and business leadership teams.
