Caravan is an international youth and social circus network of circus schools from across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, that advocates for the positive impact of youth and social circus. The network was established in 2008 by 7 European circus schools, with a common goal to use social circus as an educational tool and to dedicate this work to groups from disadvantaged backgrounds with specific needs.
We are a non-profit organisation that is committed to developing the sector and empowering our members and their participants. Our members are closely connected, and these links have been created through our projects: Youth festivals and exchanges, training for trainers programmes, capacity building, volunteer exchange, production of research, seminars and gathering of resources.
Beschrijving van de functie
Caravan is seeking a motivated and creative Communications Assistant to support our Coordinator and Communications and Projects Officer focussing on executing the network's internal communications, social media strategy and network's projects with some external elements included. This is a part-time (50%) role, perfect for someone passionate about social impact and the arts, who is eager to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation focused on social circus.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
* Assist in the creation and scheduling of engaging content across Caravan's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon etc.)
* Monitor social media activity, engage with the audience, and respond to inquiries or comments in a timely manner
* Track social media metrics and contribute to analytics reports to assess the performance of campaigns
Content Creation support:
* Assist in drafting annual reports, newsletters, blog posts, and website updates to share the network's projects and news
* Work with the Communications Officer to implement the internal communications strategy
* Support the design and dissemination of promotional materials for Caravan events and projects
Project Support:
* Help coordinate communication aspects of Caravan's events and projects (e.g., conferences, workshops, General Assemblies)
* Assist on outreach initiatives to expand Caravan's visibility and engagement with partners, members, and the wider community
* Assist with other administrative tasks related to communications and project management as needed
Jouw profiel
Required:
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (knowledge of French and/or other language is a plus)
* Skills in graphic design (e.g. Adobe, Canva, Photoshop, Genially etc...)
* Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content
* Experience working with different forms of media (photos, video, podcasts etc...)
* Organisational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
