About the Role
RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Test Specialist (Freelance) for an 18-month project with our client, based in Ghent & Brussels. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead and elevate quality assurance for critical business applications within a major digital transformation initiative. You'll be at the heart of a project that shapes the digital backbone of public services, ensuring robust, secure, and future-proof solutions for millions.

As a Test Specialist, you'll be the quality gatekeeper, empowering cross-functional teams and ensuring that every release meets the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coach large, cross-functional teams in quality assurance best practices and continuous improvement.
* Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies for business applications, including transaction systems and system integrations.
* Drive business acceptance testing, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet real-world needs.
* Utilize and optimize quality management tools such as Spira Team, HP ALM, Jira, and Confluence to streamline testing processes and documentation.
* Test SOAP and REST web services using ReadyApi, ensuring robust API integrations.
* Develop and maintain automated test scenarios with Cucumber and IntelliJ.
* Champion Agile methodologies, actively participating in Scrum ceremonies and fostering a culture of collaboration and ownership.
* Guide teams in the use of GIT for version control and Magda for data management.
* Ensure compliance with security protocols, including user management and digital certificate management within the Flemish Government context.
* Uphold the "do no significant harm" (DNSH) principle in line with EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RFF) funding requirements.
Technical Skills & Experience
* 8+ years of hands-on experience in quality control and testing of business applications, including transaction systems and integrations.
* 6+ years of experience testing SOAP and REST web services with ReadyApi.
* 6+ years of experience with Cucumber and IntelliJ for automated testing.
* 8+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, leading or coaching large multifunctional teams.
* Proven expertise with quality management tools: Spira Team, HP ALM, Jira, Confluence.
* Demonstrable experience with GIT and Magda.
* Experience with the security services of the Flemish Government (user management, digital certificate management) is highly valued.
* Experience within the Flemish government sector (minimum 5 years preferred).
* Strong track record in guiding business acceptance testing and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
Language Proficiency
* Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.
