Overview
N-SIDE Careers Legal & Compliance Officer. We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Officer to join our Internal Services department based in Louvain-la-Neuve. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts across the two Business Units, provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice and training to internal stakeholders, and assist on ad-hoc legal projects. You will also take an active role in the company\'s compliance and governance, including serving as the advisory lead for GDPR, monitoring applicable regulations, coordinating internal audits, and developing and delivering compliance training across functions.

What you\'ll do
1. Contractual & Advisory Support
* Contract review & set-up: Drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating (general) commercial contracts (e.g. RFP & tenders, sales & SaaS Master Agreements, Statements of Work, procurement and supplier contracts, service agreements, letters of intent, MOU, NDA, DPA, partnerships, etc.) across the 2 N-SIDE Business Units (Life Science & Energy).
* Contract management: Manage the contract lifecycle from its request until filing, in close collaboration with the Business and all internal stakeholders required (i.e., Finance, Business Development, HR, Senior Management).
* Advice: Provide practical, solution-oriented and business-oriented advice to the Business on legal and contractual aspects.
* Training: Design and deliver internal Legal and Contractual training to educate stakeholders about legal aspects.
* Processes: Work with the rest of the Legal team, Compliance team and business stakeholders on internal best practices and contract processes or tools.
* Regulatory & Compliance
o Governance & Ethics: Steer the Company\'s Governance & Ethics domain, including the Code of Conduct and Whistleblowing framework, acting as the primary neutral body.
o Privacy advisory: Serve as the advisory lead for GDPR requirements and the Privacy Committee, supporting other teams with compliance in a decentralized self-control model.
o Regulatory oversight: Monitor local and international regulations to provide the regulatory reference guiding and defining required compliance or certifications efforts on respective domains, supporting the operational teams in charge of implementing effective compliance measures.
o Audit & Risk Mitigation: Coordinate internal audits and compliance checks, acting as a backup for the audit function to ensure non-conformities are addressed and business risks are mitigated.
o Training & Empowerment: Develop, deliver and monitor the effectiveness of compliance training across functions to ensure teams are equipped to handle their delegated regulatory and compliance responsibilities effectively.
* General Legal Affairs & Specialized Support
o Intellectual Property: Protect the company\'s core assets by advising on IP strategy, managing the trademark portfolio, etc.
o Litigation: Manage potential disputes or claims, coordinating if needed with external counsel.
o Corporate: Support corporate governance activities, in particular Board and shareholders management, across N-SIDE\'s affiliated companies.
o Ad-hoc Legal Projects: Tackle diverse legal challenges as they arise, from insurance renewals and real estate leases to supporting strategic M&A or financing activities.
About you
o You have a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a previous function as in-house Legal/Compliance, preferably within an international corporate environment.
o You have experience with contract drafting, review and negotiation, and can handle both recurring small contracts and complex high-value agreements.
o You will have obtained a Master\'s Degree in Law or Compliance.
o You bring solid expertise in GDPR compliance and are familiar with EU whistleblower protection, antitrust frameworks, and compliance risk management.
o Experience in compliance, legal, internal audit or internal investigations is a plus.
o You have rigorous attention to detail, are results-oriented, have strong organizational skills and can prioritize your own work.
o You can manage multiple files simultaneously and work under pressure and business constraints.
o Great business acumen and customer-focus.
o Ability to work within a team environment, effectively communicate, be proactive and resilient to stress.
o Fluent in English and French.
