We are now looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Houthalen-Helchteren, Belgium.
What you will do
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be the hands-on lead within our technical department. You ensure that our installations operate optimally and actively contribute to technical improvements. You will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise makes the difference. In addition, you will:
* Perform periodic and preventive maintenance on machines and installations
* Detect and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions
* Identify deviations and make proposals for technical optimizations
* Implement and manage spare parts management
* Read and interpret PLC programs and take appropriate actions
* Prepare operating instructions and share knowledge through training
* Coordinate and support colleagues by setting a positive example
* Oversee daily operations of the entire machine park, including breakdowns and preventive maintenance
* Solve technical problems related to machines
* Carry out repair and maintenance work on buildings
* Monitor and operate technical installations
* Report deviations and take corrective action
* Investigate and assess the complexity of technical malfunctions
* Work collaboratively within a team of maintenance technicians
* Report to the head of the technical department
Who you are
* You hold a TSO diploma in mechanics or electromechanics, or equivalent experience
* You preferably have at least five years of relevant experience as a troubleshooting technician and/or strong electrical skills
* You have obtained BA5 certificate
* You have extensive mechanical knowledge, including hydraulics, pneumatics, measurement and control technology
* You are practical, adaptable, and detail-oriented
* You are comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
* You have strong analytical skills to solve complex technical problems
* You are able to read technical plans
* You have experience with electromechanical work: laying cables, connecting control cabinets, reading schematics
* You communicate well in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
* You are willing to work in shifts (early – late)
