Your Position
As CEMEA Geologist, you will be part CEMEA Geology team and will work in close collaboration with the Mining team and Operations in all the activities related to the understanding, geological modeling, and efficient and sustainable exploitation of Carmeuse EMEA deposits.
You will participate in the estimation of geological reserves and exploration for new resources. You will assist Operations in anticipating and solving quality issues, while maximizing the utilization of our natural resources. As a member of Carmeuse Geology Group, you will take part in Carmeuse training program and be provided with on-the-job coaching by a Senior Geologist.
Your Role
Provide geological support to the Mining and Operations teams to ensure that our quarries can supply the volumes and qualities of stone to meet the needs of our customers. It is equally important to ensure that reserves and resources are correctly identified and characterized.
Your Responsibilities
•Organize and manage geophysics & drilling campaigns, coordinating the suppliers•Describe and sample cores•Organize and follow testing (chemistry, rock mechanics etc)•Update & maintain sample and drilling databases•Build and update 3D geological models•Map rock types and structures inside and outside quarries, as part of Carmeuse prospection strategy•Communicate with Mining team and participate in mine design & mine planning•Calculate reserves & resources•Participating in regular quarry meetings with Operations•Participate in cross-functional calcination team meetings & projects with laboratories, R&D & Process team•Continuous self-training (technical publications, in-house and external training
Requirements, professional skills and soft skills
Basic requirements
•Master’s degree in Geology or Mining Geology•Demonstrate field geology and/or geological mapping experience•Interest in economic geology and industrial minerals•Good command of both spoken and written English•Driving license•Willing to travel within Europe, Middle East and Asia up to 30% of your time
Professional skills
•Geological mapping & field geology•Basic carbonate sedimentology•Geological exportation techniques experience is a plus •Skills in specialized software (GIS, CAD, mining/geology) is a plus•Previous experience in mining is a plus

Your team
EMEA Geology team consists of 5 young and dynamic geologists. Three of them (Marie, Johan and Catalin) are based in LLN Headquarter, while Ilker Ileri is our Geologist for Turkish (Kimtas) quarries and Sirasate Surasit is working for Golden Lime in Thailand, as quarry geologist. The successful candidate will report directly to EMEA Geology Manager (Catalin Petrea).
