About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on LIMS Consultant / Technical Specialist with 5–10 years of relevant experience to join our growing informatics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory informatics systems, particularly with Thermo Fisher Sample Manager LIMS, and the technical expertise to implement, configure, and integrate solutions for our clients across the life sciences and related industries. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, domain knowledge, and client-facing communication skills to collaborate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Gather and analyse business and technical requirements from internal teams and external clients.
* Design and implement LIMS solutions using Thermo Fisher SampleManager LIMS and related tools (e.g., Thermo Fisher Integration Manager, Thermo LES).
* Configure workflows, develop custom functionalities, and build system integrations to meet project goals.
* Develop and maintain scripts and applications using Sample Manager VGL, .NET, and Python.
* Support data management and reporting using Reports and other reporting tools.
* Collaborate with domain experts in biology, chemistry, process technology, or food science.
* Participate in system validation, testing, documentation, and user training.
* Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across Europe and support client engagements on-site as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* 5–10 years of professional experience in laboratory informatics.
* Proven hands-on experience with Thermo Fisher Sample Manager LIMS (configuration, customization, and integration). Especially with version 21 onwards on a cloud deployment
* Exposure to ELN systems (preferred).
* Solid understanding of at least one scientific domain: biology, chemistry, process technology, or food science.
* Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Databricks and AWS.
* Proficiency in Python and .NET programming languages.
* Strong database knowledge (Oracle 10g/11g/12c, SQL Server 2008–2016).
* Experience with Crystal Reports and Report Designer.
Preferred Skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, international teams.
* Ability to translate scientific workflows into technical solutions.
* Experience in food science, process technology, or biotechnology is highly preferred, with the ability to understand and support R&D workflows in ingredient development and production.
