Network Security Engineer

We are looking for personnel to join our team and support key client projects.
Overview
The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and related NATO CIS security accreditation programs underpin secure IT services for NATO and partner nations. This role involves contributing to CIS security accreditation, risk assessment, and the development of security documentation in alignment with NATO policies and directives.
Role Responsibilities
* CIS Security Accreditation: Produce the CIS Description (CISD) documentation, coordinate with Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), network and security architects, and other SMEs to ensure accurate CIS descriptions.
* Security Risk Assessment (SRA): Conduct SRAs for the NATO CIS in scope, coordinating with accreditation stakeholders.
* Security Requirements Statements (SRSs): Produce SRSs (System Specific and System Interconnections), evaluate security requirements implementation, advise on mitigation/remediation, and document in accreditation documents (SRS, SecOPs).
* Security Operating Procedures (SecOPs): Produce SecOPs in line with NATO policies and directives.
* Security Tests and Verification Plans (STVP): Develop STVPs and conduct tests as per defined plans with reporting.
* Mitigation and Remediation: Support development of plans, assess residual cybersecurity risks for NISC managed CIS after risk mitigation measures.
* Remediation Activities: Assist with complex remediation for NATO CIS in scope, collaborating with NCIA Service Delivery Managers.
* Protection Compliance: Ensure adequate levels of systems/data protection in line with NATO security policies.
* Operations: Perform all operation, support and maintenance activities described in Annex C; log and track service/change requests using the ITSM system; ensure tickets are updated and resolved within SLAs.
* Escalation: Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
* Knowledge Base Management: Contribute to knowledge base, document common issues and solutions; share best practices with the team.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor support metrics and KPIs; participate in reviews and implement improvements.
* Automation and Efficiency: Develop automation scripts or advise on tools to streamline tasks; create workflows to improve efficiency and update accreditation deliverables.
* Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with internal users to understand issues and provide clear instructions; collaborate with IT teams to resolve security issues.
Essential Skills, Experience and Certifications
Technical Proficiency
* Proficiency in NATO CIS security accreditation processes, CIS SRAs, STVs, and remediation activities.
* A minimum of 2 years of experience with the security accreditation process, including development of related documents.
Problem-Solving Skills
* Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network security issues; ability to guide users through problem-solving steps.
Automation Skills
* Proficiency in automation to create workflows and automate repetitive processes; identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey technical information to non-technical users; minimum 2 years of international environment experience.
Customer Service Orientation
* Strong focus on user satisfaction; patient and empathetic in addressing issues.
Organizational Skills
* Ability to manage multiple support tickets and prioritize tasks; meticulous in documenting activities.
Team Collaboration
* Ability to work effectively in a team and share knowledge; willing to collaborate to solve complex issues.
Other Qualifications
* Strong customer relationship skills, including negotiating sensitive situations under pressure.
Language Proficiency
* Full proficiency in English.
