Operations and ombudsman manager

Your mission: We are a Payment Institution regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil, expanding across Brazil and LATAM. We are looking for a senior leader to bridge the gap between operational scaling and regulatory excellence in a strategic dual mandate. You will drive our Brazilian operations toward scale and efficiency while serving as the formally designated Ombudsman before the Central Bank of Brazil. This is a rare opportunity for a professional who excels at the intersection of execution and regulatory stewardship. Your profile: Operational Scale: Lead end-to-end performance (merchant onboarding, Pix, chargebacks) and drive automation to scale without linear headcount growth. Regulatory Stewardship: Act as the Ombudsman (the last administrative instance for customer claims) and ensure full compliance with the BCB framework. Strategic Reporting: Author semi-annual reports for the Board and Global HQ, identifying systemic issues and proposing corrective actions. External Representation: Represent the institution before the Central Bank, Procon, and Consumidor.Gov. Required Skills: Experience in Operations or Compliance within Financial Services/Fintech. Regulatory Context: Hands-on experience with BCB-regulated entities (IP, Bank, or Acquirer). Certification: Current Ombudsman certification (FEBRABAN or ABBC) or willingness to obtain it within 180 days. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Pix, Open Finance, and consumer protection rules. Languages: Native/Fluent Portuguese and Fluent English (required for global reporting). Data-Driven: Proficiency in using data to improve products and operational workflows. Experience in multinational fintechs with matrix reporting lines.
