Senior MEP Cost Manager
Overview
The Senior MEP Cost Manager role involves working within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality cost management services across complex construction projects. The position offers exposure to a wide range of project types, opportunities for professional growth, and the ability to take ownership of key commercial responsibilities. The role supports collaborative working, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, with a focus on building long-term, trusted relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse tenders and bids with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and process (MEP) packages to ensure value for money.
* Support the resolution of construction disputes and loss and expense claims related to MEP installations in a transparent and professional manner.
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members, supporting performance development within MEP cost management.
* Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of final accounts, including the assessment of MEP-related claims.
* Prepare cost estimates and cost plans for construction projects, with particular emphasis on MEP elements.
* Produce clear and timely cost reports and supporting documentation to enable informed decision-making.
* Contribute to the tender and procurement process, from preparation of documentation through to tender analysis and reporting.
* Monitor and control project expenditure, including valuations, change management, and reporting of variations within the MEP scope.
Skills and Experience
* Significant experience in MEP cost management on large-scale and complex construction projects, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment.
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or process systems and installations.
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
* Eligibility to work in the relevant jurisdiction without sponsorship requirements.
