Mission
Position Overview:The Quality Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that our underwater drones meet stringent quality and performance standards. You will work closely with industrialization, engineering, production, planning, configuration, procurement and testing teams to identify, implement, and maintain quality assurance practices throughout the product lifecycle. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of systems that perform flawlessly in demanding operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes in compliance with ISO /AQAP standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct quality inspections and audits of incoming and outgoing components, assemblies, and final products.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (Red Alert Meetings).
4. Perform root cause analyses and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives (Root Cause Analysis and 8D reporting).
5. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and ensure accuracy in results.
6. Participate in design reviews and provide quality input to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.
7. Maintain detailed records of quality activities, including test reports, inspection logs, and non-conformance reports.
8. Support configuration management processes to ensure traceability of product designs and changes.
9. Communicate effectively with stakeholders on quality matters.
10. Work closely together with Quality Inspector and report to Quality Manager
Additional Responsibilities:
11. Oversee ISO -compliant Quality Management Systems (QMS).
12. Perform internal audits and actively participate in external audits, including preparation and follow-up actions.
13. Establish and monitor quality reporting metrics, including customer complaints, supplier performance, and non-conformities.
14. Ensure adherence to Six Sigma methodologies and Lean principles for process optimization.
15. Collaborate with the operational management team and quality organization across Exail Robotics to maintain alignment with group-wide quality objectives and projects.
Role-Specific Additions and Clarifications:
Quality Release Authority:Act as final quality release authority for products, ensuring conformity and configuration compliance prior to delivery.
ATP / ATR:Understand and interpret Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Acceptance Test Reports (ATR), without being responsible for executing the tests.
Work Location:Activities performed both on the naval base and on the production site, depending on project and operational needs.
Customer Interface / POC:Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for customer quality-related issues, including complaints, corrective actions, and preventive actions.

Your profile
16. Preferably Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
17. 3 to 5 years experience in quality engineering. Experience within defence, automotive or aerospace sector would be a great plus.
18. Strong knowledge of AQAP (Allied Quality Assurance Publications) and ISO standards.
19. Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques and methods.
20. Proficiency in root cause analysis tools such as 8D, FMEA, or Six Sigma methodologies.
21. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
22. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
23. Eligible for security clearance in accordance with government regulations.
Extra preferred qualifications:
24. Experience with underwater systems or maritime technology.
25. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
26. Knowledge of environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-STD-).
27. Familiarity with mine countermeasure operations or naval systems.
28. Experience with supplier quality management, including auditing and maintaining calibration processes.
