Mantell Associates is partnered with a fully integrated, global CDMO, delivering end-to-end solutions across drug substance, drug product, and analytical services, who is seeking a highly strategic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to support its European growth strategy from Belgium.
Business Development Manager - Responsibilities:
* Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in drug substance and product services across CDMO service lines, including biologics, small molecules, and advanced therapies
* Build and nurture strong relationships with pharma, biotech, and life sciences clients—spanning SMEs, global innovators, and academic spin-outs
* Lead end-to-end business development efforts, from lead generation and needs assessment to proposal development, negotiation, and closing commercial agreements
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders—including Operations, Technical Teams, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance—to ensure client expectations are met and optimal service solutions are delivered
* Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer priorities to tailor a compelling value proposition for the marketplace
* Represent the company at strategic industry events, partnering forums, and client meetings across Europe
Business Development Manager - Requirements:
* Proven experience in business development or sales roles within the CDMO, pharmaceutical, or biotech sectors
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering growth, managing complex client engagements, and closing deals
* Deep understanding of CDMO services, including contract manufacturing, CMC, regulatory support, and project-based outsourcing
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is highly advantageous
* Based in Belgium and able to travel within the country and across neighboring European markets
