We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to play a key role in managing, analyzing, and leveraging complex datasets for large-scale digital initiatives.
This position is with an EU Body, preferably for candidates with experience in data management in the transportation sector. The role involves contributing to projects that have a European-scale impact within a multi-cultural team environment.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
- Strong command of English (C1 level), knowledge of French is considered a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience working with operational or technical datasets.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other business intelligence tools.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, SQL, or equivalent languages.
- Experience with Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and data analytics techniques and tools.
- Experience working with data for European projects is an asset.
- Ability to analyze, structure, and interpret data effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect business requirements and develop advanced data mining solutions, or identify, assess, and deploy relevant existing data mining, machine learning, and business intelligence solutions.
- Specify and design presentation interfaces with optimal usability and user experience.
- Identify, collect, convert, and update different data types and datasets across various sources/locations (ETL processes).
- Produce data models aligned with specific problem statements.
- Perform scripting and programming to support data workflows, analytics, and automation.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the analytics architecture and the overall solution stack, including performance, physical design, and capacity considerations.
- Write documentation associated with assigned tasks and coordinate with other project teams to address cross-project dependencies.
- Apply knowledge in areas such as predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, sentiment analysis, topic detection, social media crawling/processing, plagiarism detection, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.
