Process Engineer - Nuclear Medicine | Mol, Belgium – Permanent Contract
Job Description
Join a growing nuclear medicine organisation at the forefront of radiotheranostics, developing next-generation targeted cancer treatments using innovative radioisotopes. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the production chain of a highly promising alpha-emitting therapeutic isotope.
In this role, you will take ownership of key subsystems within the production chain, with a primary focus on the design, optimisation and implementation of a Radon (Rn) abatement system. You will combine hands-on process engineering with safety, quality, experimentation and stakeholder collaboration to ensure robust, safe and reliable large-scale production capability.
Essential Requirements
• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project or process engineering
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and material interactions under varying pressure and temperature conditions
• Demonstrated ability to own and lead subsystem development, including design, integration, testing and documentation
• Ability to perform experiments to support technology de-risking and validate system performance
• Experience reviewing supplier documentation, managing supplier interactions, and executing/approving FAT/SAT activities
• Ability to evaluate system behaviour under normal, off-normal and failure scenarios and support risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP)
Preferred Requirements
• Experience in the nuclear and/or (radio)pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with gas adsorption processes, gas purification or ventilation systems
• Familiarity with radiation protection, nuclear safety and safety assessment methodologies
• Proven experience in developing operational, maintenance and commissioning procedures
• Strong problem-solving mindset, with focus on innovation, continuous improvement and effective stakeholder communication

• Additional: Comfortable working in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment; willingness to spend significant time on site
