HARDWARE ENGINEER - EAST FLANDERS (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION

We're currently recruiting for a Hardware Engineer. This position is primarily focused on the design and development of electronic hardware systems, with additional responsibilities in prototyping, testing, validation, and product support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming product requirements into robust, manufacturable hardware solutions, contributing throughout the entire product development lifecycle from concept and architecture through verification, production release, and ongoing product improvements.
Working closely with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams, the Hardware Engineer will be responsible for circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, design reviews, and hardware integration activities. The role also involves hands-on laboratory work, including prototype assembly, hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance characterization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits and systems.
* Create and maintain schematics, support PCB design activities, and perform design reviews.
* Select components based on performance, cost, availability, reliability, and lifecycle considerations.
* Develop prototypes and conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, and performance evaluation.
* Execute functional, environmental, reliability, and validation testing to verify compliance with design specifications.
* Troubleshoot hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
* Analyze test results and recommend design improvements to optimize product performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
* Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout product development.
* Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on system architecture, risk assessment, and design trade-offs.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, reports, bills of materials, and engineering change documentation.
* Support product qualification, certification activities, manufacturing transfer, and ongoing product improvements.
* Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in electronic hardware design and development.
* Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
* Experience creating schematics and supporting PCB design and layout activities.
* Proficiency with electronic design automation (EDA) tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar.
* Hands-on experience using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
* Experience with hardware debugging, troubleshooting, validation, and verification testing.
* Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical hardware designs.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. xphnsxz
