Responsibilities
* As MES Project Engineer in the central engineering/automation department, work on automation projects for all production plants, transforming them into factories of the future. Responsible for realization and implementation of automation investments on a project basis, with scope defined and delivered according to approved quality, timing and budget.
* Based in Izegem, with the ability to travel to our production sites in Europe.
* Ensure the development, testing and roll-out of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) projects.
* Realise automation projects in collaboration with colleagues at production sites and external suppliers.
* Project management and project-based work in teams: steer and lead automation projects with a multifunctional project team, draft project charters and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders and team members; systematically report to team members, internal customers (production, maintenance, environmental service, security service, product development sites) and project sponsors.
* Define new solutions by translating user requirements into functional design and technical concepts.
* Provide technical expertise to all production sites and share best practices.
* Stay informed about new technological evolutions and Industry 4.0 through seminars, supplier contacts, fairs, etc.
* Act as second-line support for automation-related issues.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Science of Engineering (ICT, automation, electrical) and a minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
* Good knowledge of MES platforms (preferably GE Plant Applications), IT programming (SQL Server, .NET, Reporting tools) and MS Windows and Office; this is a strong asset.
* Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC, iFix) is a plus.
* Proactive with good organization and planning skills; pragmatic, problem-solving, creative and takes initiative.
* Well-developed analytical, conceptual and synthetic skills.
* Eager to work in an international environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; fluent in Dutch required. Proficiency in English is crucial; knowledge of French is a plus.
* Willing to travel 10% of your time (short trips).
