This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data / AI leader who wants to take ownership of building and scaling AI capabilities in a highly practical, production-driven environment.
Your mission will be to drive the implementation of AI use cases across manufacturing and business processes, ensuring measurable operational impact while shaping the company’s data & AI landscape.
You will work closely with the Group IT Director, data specialists and business stakeholders across different functions.
Role & Responsibilties
* Define and execute the Data & AI strategy focused on operational excellence and efficiency
* Lead and develop the Data & AI team that is currently being built (approx. 4 FTE to start)
* Design and validate end-to-end architectures for AI and data solutions
* Define standards for AI/ML system design, Data pipelines and platforms, MLOps and model lifecycle management
* Ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems (ERP, MES, IoT platforms)
* Ensure AI solutions progress from concept to production and adoption
* Partner with business, operations, and engineering leaders to drive adoption
Your Profile
* Master in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
* Multiple years experience in AI, machine learning, data science or advanced analytics in industrial or technology-driven environments
* Proven track record of delivering AI solutions in production (not only prototyping or research)
* Technical Expertise in AI/ML system architecture and design, data architecture and data platforms, MLOps, integration with enterprise systems, programming (e.g. Python, Cloud platforms)
* Demonstrated experience combining technical architecture and leadership responsibilities
* Strong business acumen and results orientation
* Fluent English skills; additional European languages are a plus
* Located in Leuven area or willing to relocate
