E2 Drives is a young engineering company active in electric mobility. E2 Drives is specialised in mechanics, electronics, electric motor design and embedded control.

In recent years, they developed an innovative and disruptive powertrain for electric bikes. This patented technology offers comfort, robustness and performance to the cyclist thanks to its all-in-one and internal automatic gearbox design.

E2 Drives mission is to revolutionise the way people are commuting, thanks to its disruptive eBike propulsion system. E2 Drives concluded a partnership with Decathlon and plans to become a ebike motor leader in the five coming years.

E2 Drives has launched its first generation of motors in 2023 and is working on a second generation of motors to enlarge the eBike motor offer. The tech company is based in Wavre (a nice place in the South-East of Brussels) and can count on a team of 30 young, dynamic and smart professionals.

What will be your role?

As a Mechatronics/Control Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge drive unit technology. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and verification of control software for our innovative drive unit.

Your responsibilities include designing and implementing control algorithms, integrating sensor and actuator drivers, and ensuring that the entire system meets high-performance standards. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electronic, and software teams to develop new functionalities and improve the overall system behavior.

What are your main responsibilities?

* Based on functional requirements, design and implement control algorithms to enhance the behavior and performance of the drive unit.
* Develop and maintain control models in Matlab/Simulink.
* Design and implement drivers for sensors and actuators used in the drive unit.
* Test and validate your algorithms and implementations in both simulation environments and real-world systems.
* Propose and develop ideas to improve overall system control and performance.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electronic, and software engineering teams to participate in system-level design and optimization.

What are we looking for?

* You have a master in Engineering with a specialization in mechatronics, or with a specialization in electronics or electromechanics, with a good understanding of control system design.
* Up to two years of experience in one of those fields.
* Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and embedded C programming.
* Experience with sensor and actuator integration.
* A methodical and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
* Team spirit and excellent collaboration skills.
* Curiosity and a desire to learn from mistakes and continuously improve.
