Job DescriptionFinancial Services Business ConsultantAbout the CompanyOur client is a boutique consulting firm specializing in strategic advisory and transformation services for the financial services sector. They partner with banks, insurers, wealth managers, fintechs, and investment firms to deliver practical, high-impact solutions across operations, regulatory change, digital transformation, and business growth initiatives.The firm combines deep industry expertise with an entrepreneurial culture, offering consultants meaningful client exposure, collaborative working relationships, and opportunities to influence strategic outcomes.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Services Business Consultant to support client engagements across Belgium and wider European markets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders within financial institutions to identify business challenges, design strategic solutions, and deliver transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and profitability.This role is ideal for a consultant with strong analytical capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of the financial services landscape.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesLead and support consulting engagements for financial services clients across banking, insurance, payments, asset management, and fintech sectorsConduct business analysis, process reviews, and operational assessments to identify improvement opportunitiesGather and document business requirements, process flows, and target operating modelsSupport transformation programmes including digital initiatives, regulatory remediation, and operational changeFacilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings with senior business and technology teamsDevelop strategic recommendations and present findings to client leadership teamsAnalyse market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes impacting the financial services sectorAssist clients in implementing process optimisation, governance frameworks, and change management initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery within agreed timelines and budgetsRequired Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline3–8 years of experience in consulting or within the financial services industryExperience working with banks, insurance companies, investment firms, payment providers, or fintech organisationsStrong understanding of financial services operations, regulatory frameworks, and industry trendsExperience in one or more of the following areas:Business transformationRegulatory changeOperational improvementDigital transformationRisk and complianceCustomer journey optimisationTarget operating model designStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in client-facing environmentsProficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and business analysis toolsPreferred SkillsKnowledge of European financial regulations (MiFID II, PSD2, AML/KYC, GDPR, DORA, Basel frameworks, Solvency II, etc.)Experience with Agile delivery methodologiesProject management certifications (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum) are advantageousFluency in English required;
