Argenx is opening 2 internship positions within argenx’ R&D team (Discovery/Preclinical Product Development) for bachelor’s thesis students affiliated with a Belgian university of applied sciences (“”) seeking to gain their first hands-on experience in an industry setting during the academic year 2026-2027.
About the role
As a Student Intern within the R&D team, you will contribute to (early-stage) research activities that support the creation of novel therapeutic antibodies. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assist in laboratory experiments related to antibody discovery and engineering, protein production and characterization, mechanism-of-action studies and assay development;
2. Support data collection, analysis, and documentation (electronic lab notebook) in compliance with internal standards;
3. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on experimental design and results;
4. Read and present scientific literature;
5. Adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
Profile
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student with a passion for science and innovation.
6. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field);
7. Supervised by a mentor affiliated with a Belgian university of applied sciences (“”);
8. Familiar with basic laboratory skills and techniques (molecular biology [e.g. PCR, RT-PCR, cloning], biochemistry [ELISA, SDS-PAGE, WB], cell culture, etc.); experience in an academic or industry lab is a plus;
9. Strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn new methods;
10. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
11. Fluent in English (written and spoken), our corporate language.
